Abstract:

A change in the amount of an absorbing solution is detected to restore the original amount, and carbon dioxide is stably recovered from a discharge gas. This device for recovering carbon dioxide includes: an absorption tower in which a gas is brought into contact with an absorbing solution to cause the absorbing solution to absorb the carbon dioxide contained therein; and a regeneration tower in which the absorbing solution that has absorbed the carbon dioxide is heated, thereby causing the absorbing solution to release the carbon dioxide and regenerating the absorbing solution. The water vapor contained in a recovered gas which contains carbon dioxide and is discharged from the regeneration tower is recovered as condensed water by a recovery means, and the condensed water is supplied at a given flow rate to the absorbing solution present in the regeneration tower. The device further includes: a liquid-level meter which detects the liquid level that changes in accordance with fluctuations in the amount of the absorbing solution present in the device; and a restoration system which, when the liquid level has lowered, restores the original liquid level using the condensed water recovered by the recovery means. Thus, the condensed water is supplied, in an amount sufficient to restore the liquid level, to the absorbing solution present near the liquid-level meter.
