Abstract:
A method of separation of the solid phase in the drilling mud consists in forming, with the drilling mud (2), an adhesive layer (4) on a curved closed rotating surface (3) partially immersed into the drilling mud (2) and in treating the drilling mud (2) and the adhesive layer (4) with a direct current electric field so as to decrease the value of the surface tension in the adhesive layer, the rotation speed of the curved closed surface (3) being controlled to obtain the needed value of centrifugal force within the adhesive layer (4). Simultaneously the drilling mud is subjected to the treatment in a low-voltage electric field whereas the adhesive layer is subjected to a high-voltage electric field. A device for the implementation of the method comprises reservoirs (1, 9) for the drilling mud (2) to be cleaned and for the cleaned drilling mud (8) and a driven drum (3) located above the reservoir (1) with the drilling mud to be cleaned so that its surface is partially immersed into the drilling mud (2) to form an adhesive layer (4) on it. The device further comprises electrodes (10, 11) connected to a low-voltage current source (12) and forming the electric field in the drilling mud (2) to be cleaned and at least one electrode (15) connected to a high-voltage direct current source (13) and located near the cylindrical surface of the driven drum (3) carrying the adhesive layer (4).
