Abstract:
A method and device for switching thread which can solve such problems as deterioration of thread quality and failure to hold thread and increase the success rate of switching of thread, wherein the rotating speed of a turret table (2) is decelerated to a low speed before a running thread Y being wound up on a fully wound bobbin wound on a bobbin (5) which is installed on a bobbin holder (3) is brought into contact, at the time of switching, with an empty bobbin (5) installed on a bobbin holder (4), a thread handling area control guide (15) and a thread guide (13) are inserted between the fully wound bobbin and the empty bobbin, the running thread Y is guided, by the thread guide (13) to a position corresponding to a thread arresting groove (5a) of the empty bobbin (5), the rotating speed of the turret table (2) is increased again to a high speed, and the running thread Y is held by the thread arresting groove (5a) of the empty bobbin (5) while the turret tale is moved to a winding up position.
