Abstract:
The application provides a method, a device, and a system for determining a packet header compression mechanism, so as to determine a suitable packet header compression mechanism for a session. The method in an embodiment of the application comprises: an access network apparatus receiving session information from a network element apparatus, the session information comprising a session identifier and packet type information, the session identifier indicating a session of a terminal apparatus, and the packet type information indicating a packet type of the session; the access network apparatus determining, according to the packet type information, a packet header compression mechanism to be used to process packets of the session; and the access network apparatus sending information of the packet header compression mechanism to the terminal apparatus.
