The invention provides a method, device and system for implementing session continuity. The method comprises: sending indication information to a terminal, wherein the indication information is used to indicate that a first protocol data unit (PDU) session is a redirected session of a second PDU session, and the first PDU session is established when the terminal determines that the established second PDU session needs to be redirected to a terminating user-plane function (TUPF) and sends an establishment request to a network side device. According to the technical solution, a problem in the prior art in which a terminal cannot determine which PDU session is a redirection of a newly established PDU session is resolved, and further the terminal can determine according to the instruction information which PDU session is a redirection of the newly established PDU session.
