Abstract:
Method, device and system for protecting multicast traffic in mobile communication
technical field. A backup path is set up for the path which needs to be protected.
The route information of the said backup path is stored in the route table. When
a path failure is detecting, the traffic is switched from the failure path to the
backup path. In the embodiment of the present invention, by setting up an unicast
tunnel or setting up a multicast tunnel as the backup path for the working path
in multicast, and by adding the backup path port as the ingress port into the route
table, it is realized to switch the data flow to the backup path at the forwarding
layer without being detected by user at time of the working path failure, and realize
fast convergence, and do not influence the user's experience. The influence
on the user's experience is reduced effectively during the restoring of
the failure path in a point-to-multipoint traffic network.
