The present application relates to the technical field of communications. Disclosed are a method and device for transmitting and receiving uplink control information. In the method, a terminal device receives first DCI from a network device, then determines , on the basis of the received first DCI, that an uplink shared channel scheduled by the first DCI is only used for transmitting UCI, and then transmits first UCI to the network device via the uplink shared channel scheduled by the first DCI, in other words, the network device instructs the terminal device via the DCI to allow the terminal device to determine, on the basis of the DCI, whether the uplink shared channel scheduled by the DCI is only used for transmitting DCI, thus providing a scheme for determining whether the uplink shared channel scheduled by the network device is only used for transmitting uplink control information, and enhancing the interactive performance between the network device and the terminal device.
