Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of suppressing voltage fluctuations that occur in an electric power system when electricity generation devices that use renewable energy (such as solar generation devices) in a distributed arrangement are interconnected in an electric power system. This weather prediction device is characterized by being provided with a first means for calculating a time-series fluctuation portion for an insolation-related signal obtained in time-series fashion at a plurality of locations in an electric power system, a second means for correcting the time of a plurality of time-series fluctuation portions in accordance with the time taken for a cloud to reach a point of interest at the time of a temporarily set wind direction and wind speed for the cloud, a third means for performing a likelihood calculation for the plurality of time-corrected time-series fluctuation portions, and a fourth means for sequentially changing the temporarily set values of the wind direction and wind speed for the cloud, each time calculating a likelihood, and outputting information relating to the cloud wind direction and wind speed for which the likelihood is greatest.
