Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing fuel tank leaks, and to an apparatus applying same. The method according to the present invention is configured to adjust the pressure of the fuel tank of a vehicle being driven to the leak diagnosis pressure, and to diagnose the fuel tank for leaks as soon as the vehicle is stopped. Accordingly, the method of the present invention can adjust the pressure of the fuel tank of a vehicle to the leak diagnosis pressure prior to the stopping of the vehicle, and can easily diagnose whether or not there is a leak in the fuel tank when the vehicle is stopped, even in cases where negative pressure is formed or diagnostic accuracy must be increased while the vehicle is stopped. The fuel tank may thus be diagnosed for leaks.
