Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing a prostatic disease, such as prostate cancer and prostatic hypertrophy, via bacterial metagenomic analysis and, more particularly, to a method for diagnosing prostate cancer and prostatic hypertrophy by performing bacterial metagenomic analysis by using a subject-derived sample, and analyzing an increase or decrease in the content of a specific bacterium-derived extracellular vesicle. An extracellular vesicle secreted from a bacterium present in the environment can be absorbed into the body and directly affect the occurrence of inflammation and cancer, and a prostatic disease, such as prostate cancer and prostatic hypertrophy, is difficult to diagnose early on before any symptom appears, which makes efficient treatment difficult. As such, through the metagenomic analysis of a gene present in a bacterium-derived extracellular vesicle using a human body-derived sample according to the present invention, the risk of the onset of prostate cancer and prostatic hypertrophy can be predicted in advance, enabling early diagnosis and prediction of a prostatic disease risk group and delay of the time of the onset or prevention of the onset with proper care, and early diagnosis is still possible even after the onset of prostatic hypertrophy or prostate cancer, which can lower the incidence rate of the prostatic disease and enhance the treatment effect.
