Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing a sub-module state during initial charge of an MMC converter, the method comprising the steps in which: a higher controller identifies a static state of an MMC converter; when the MMC converter is in a static state, the higher controller causes an AC voltage to be supplied from an AC side to N sub-modules in the MMC converter; a capacitor in each of the sub-modules is charged with an initial charge voltage by means of the supplied AC voltage; sub-module controllers identify whether each of sub-modules is currently in a fault state, and transmit a fault signal to the higher controller when any sub-module is in a fault state; voltage detection units of the sub-modules detect the initial charge voltage with which the capacitors are charged, and transmit the detected initial charge voltage to the sub-module controllers; the sub-module controllers transfer the received initial charge voltage to the higher controller; and the higher controller diagnoses a state of each of the sub-modules using the initial charge voltage of each of the sub-modules and whether the fault signal is received from any sub-module controller.
