Abstract:

[PROBLEMS] To provide a diagnostic method for diagnosing chorioamnionitis more accurately compared to the conventional diagnosis based on the determination of CRP which is an inflammation marker in a serum of a mother body, and also provide a method for determination of an amphiregulin level in an amniotic fluid. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A method for the diagnosis of chorioamnionitis, comprising measuring an amphiregulin level in an amniotic fluid and determining that there is a high possibility of chorioamnionitis when the amphiregulin level is high. In the method, an IL-8 level and/or an IL-6 level and/or a glucose level in an amniotic fluid may also be measured in addition to an amphiregulin level in an amniotic fluid to further improve the accuracy of the diagnosis of chorioamnionitis. The amphiregulin level in an amniotic fluid may be measured by an enzymological approach such as ELISA.
