Abstract:
A method for disassembling a gear device in which a gear shaft (4) to which a small gear (3) meshed with a large gear (2) is secured inside a gear box (1) is fitted with a cylindrical roller bearing (5) and a ball bearing (6) respectively located at one and the other sides in the axial direction of the small gear, the method including the steps of: removing, from the gear box (1), a ball bearing box (8) fitted over an outer ring of the ball bearing; drawing the ball bearing, the gear shaft, and the small gear out of the gear box together with the ball bearing box; and, under this condition, separating the ball bearing from the gear shaft, the method enabling the ball bearing to be separated from the gear shaft without providing a drawing stepped portion on an inner ring of the ball bearing. Using a jig (9) having a plurality of rods (91) corresponding to a plurality of through-holes (31) formed in the small gear (3), the rods (91) are passed through the through-holes (31) from the one side of the small gear (3) in the axial direction so as to be brought into contact with an end face of the inner ring (61) of the ball bearing (6), and then the inner ring (61) is pushed from the rods (91) toward the other side in the axial direction with respect to the gear shaft (4) so as to separate the ball bearing (6) from the gear shaft (4).
