Abstract:
The present invention pertains to the field of hydrometallurgy and essentially relates to methods for producing sulphate solutions that contain nickel and cobalt. The method involves processing the material using a solution of sulphuric acid in the presence of a catalyst so as to produce a solution and a solid residue. The catalyst consists of a copper-containing material which is previously dissolved in the sulphuric acid, while the process is carried out at a pH of 2.0 to 4.5.
