Abstract:
A method for distinguishing a fake eye using light of two wavelengths according to the present invention comprises the steps of: simultaneously shining light of a first wavelength and light of a second wavelength onto the eye region including the iris and sclera of a user; obtaining a single captured image of the eye region of the user in response to the shining of the light, the image being obtained using an image-capturing element in which at least R color sensing elements, G color sensing elements, and B color sensing elements are arranged in the Bayer pattern; determining an inspection region by specifying the sclera portion (E_S) in the single image; calculating a first color average detection amount by averaging the detection amounts of first color sensing elements at positions corresponding to the inspection region and calculating a second color average detection amount by averaging the detection amounts of second color sensing elements at positions corresponding to the inspection region; and calculating the ratio (Aaverage) between the first color average detection amount and the second color average detection amount and comparing the ratio (Aaverage) with a predefined reference ratio (ARef) to determine whether the user's eye is a fake eye.
