A method for drawing a tube blank while supplying a lubricating agent to the inner surface of the tube blank from a discharge opening of a rod, the method being configured so that, without the use of an application member such as a core, the lubricating agent is adhered without excess or deficiency to the inner surface in both the circumferential and longitudinal directions of the tube blank. While a metallic tube blank (2) is passed and drawn between a die (10) for shaping the outer surface of the tube blank and a plug (11) for shaping the inner surface thereof, a lubricating agent (L) discharged intermittently from a discharge opening (21), which is provided in the outer peripheral surface of a rod (20) for supporting the plug (11), toward an upper region (40), which is located at a position higher than the center of the tube blank (2) in the vertical direction, is sprayed and adhered to a portion of the inner surface of the tube blank (2), said portion including the highest position (P1) of the inner surface of the tube blank (2).
