Embodiments of the present invention belong to the field of electrical devices and provide a method for a drinking water device, an apparatus, a processor, and a drinking water device. The method for a drinking water device comprises: determining that a drinking water device is located in a dark environment; detecting whether a user is close to the drinking water device; in a situation where it is detected that a user is close to the drinking water device, turning on an illumination apparatus, so as to light up at least a water reception area of the drinking water device; in a situation where a water acquisition container is placed in the water reception area, reading water acquisition information in an information label on the water acquisition container; and controlling the drinking water device to output water according to the water acquisition information. By utilizing a method of the present invention, convenience in using a drinking water device can be improved.
