Abstract:

The present invention provides a method for drying a refractory substance coated onto the inside walls of work equipment such as reactors, catalyst regenerators and flue gas ducts used in the process of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC). This method causes the refractory substance to dry, which can shorten the commissioning time and allows early running of the process, and comprises the steps of: (A) calculating the total amount of heat required in order to dry all of the refractory material attached to the inner walls of the equipment; (B) providing a thermocouple on the equipment, and a plurality of gas burners and a plurality of openable and closable vent parts for spraying flames at openings formed on the equipment; (C) drying the refractory material by means of the gas burners; (D) measuring the temperature of the working equipment by means of the thermocouple provided on the equipment; and (E) controlling the spraying of flames by the gas burners and whether or not the vent parts are open or closed in accordance with the measured temperature.
