Abstract:
A process for producing a dry starch-containing material with a moisture content of 15% or less starting with a starch-containing material having a moisture content exceeding 50%, characterized by comprising (1) effecting primary drying at a temperature lower than the gelatinization temperature of the starting starch-containing material to give an intermediate dry matter with a moisture content of 50% or less, and (2) then effecting secondary drying at a temperature higher than the above-mentioned gelatinization temperature to thereby convert the intermediate dry matter to the aimed dry starch-containing material having a moisture content of 15 % or less.
