Provided by the present invention is a method for dynamically adjusting bandwidth, comprising the following steps: on the basis of a user policy, classifying network traffic, obtaining corresponding user information, a stream control channel and a priority level, and entering the traffic into a send queue under a stream control channel of a user; periodically monitoring network traffic of each user, and calculating a bandwidth usage of each user according to the network traffic obtained by monitoring; when the bandwidth usage of a user is greater than a first threshold, increasing the bandwidth of the user, and when the bandwidth usage of a user is less than a second threshold, reducing the bandwidth of the user; and scheduling and sending network traffic by means of a bandwidth management scheduler. The beneficial effects of the present invention comprise: according to a change in user bandwidth usage, dynamically adjusting the bandwidth allocated to each user while meeting the bandwidth requirements of the users, thus avoiding the waste of bandwidth resources, improving the bandwidth utilization, and at the same time limiting the allocation of bandwidth for each user, thus ensuring the fairness of bandwidth allocation.
