A method for ecological restoration of vegetation method in a spoil area, comprising: leveling the spoil area, and maintaining a predetermined flatness; spreading a layer of covering soil on the surface of the leveled spoil area; improving the covering soil to make the soil suitable for agriculture and forestry; and planting target vegetation on the improved covering soil; and irrigating, according to a predetermined irrigation period, the target vegetation by using domestic sewage that is qualified after treatment. In the method for ecological restoration of vegetation in a spoil area, the covering soil is improved according to nutrients of the spread covering soil, parameter information of the covering soil and the target vegetation is then analyzed, the water requirement of the target vegetation is obtained according to the parameter information, and finally the target vegetation is irrigated according to the obtained water requirement. The method can accelerate soil mellowing, promote a soil improvement process, ensure quick growth of plants, save water resources, protect the environment, and reduce costs.
