Abstract:
[Problem] Temperature nonuniformity of compressed air in the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine slows the reaction between fuel and combustion air and inevitably causes ignition delay. The existing combustion constantly discharges toxic exhaust substances (including blow-by gas) as incomplete combustion. An objective is to inhibit the ignition delay of this existing combustion. [Solution] This method for electromagnetic wave processing of water vapor in combustion air excites the molecules in water vapor in combustion air. This device for electromagnetic wave processing of water vapor in combustion air comprises: a substrate; a heat barrier mounted on the substrate; an irradiation unit composed of a ceramic for irradiating electromagnetic waves toward the combustion air, the irradiation unit being disposed on the heat barrier; and a pocket in which the irradiation unit is placed.
