Abstract:

Provided is a method for encoding a reference image, comprising: encoding a sequence to be encoded to obtain a rebuilt image of a first reference image and a rebuilt image of a second reference image; determining whether a segment in the second reference image is suitable for updating a corresponding segment or a relevant segment in the first reference image; determining whether the corresponding segment or the relevant segment in the first reference image has been updated; if the corresponding segment or the relevant segment in the first reference image has not been updated yet and the segment in the second reference image is determined to be suitable for updating the corresponding segment or the relevant segment in the first reference image, replacing a pixel value of the corresponding segment or the relevant segment in the first reference image with a pixel value of the segment in the second reference image; and encoding into a codestream reference image update information used to determine whether the segment in the second reference image is to be used to update the corresponding segment or the relevant segment in the first reference image.
