Abstract:
Provided is lactic acid bacteria having an enhanced immunostimulatory action, in a state in which an esterified product of a polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid is not admixed. Also provided is a method for producing lactic acid bacteria that have an enhanced immunostimulatory action and do not contain an esterified product between a polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid, the method comprising bringing lactic acid bacteria having an immunostimulatory action into contact with a composition for enhancing the immunostimulatory action of lactic acid bacteria containing as an active ingredient an esterified product between a polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid, and subsequently washing the lactic acid bacteria to remove the composition for enhancing the immunostimulatory action of lactic acid bacteria.
