A method for adjusting a waist and back supporting device, wherein the waist and back supporting device comprises a sensing unit and a waist and back control unit; the method comprises: collecting user sensing information of a user by means of the sensing unit when the user wears the waist and back supporting device to use a table and chair (S11); sending the user sensing information to a corresponding user equipment (S12); receiving adjusting instruction information that is returned by the user equipment on the basis of the user sensing information and that is about the waist and back supporting device (S13); and implementing the adjusting instruction information by means of the waist and back control unit so as to adjust the waist and back supporting device to adapt to the state of the table and chair (S14). The described method may acquire in real time posture information of a user and correspondingly adjust the waist and back supporting device according to a change in the posture of the user, such that the user may suitably adjust when wearing the waist and back supporting device to use a table and chair; the process both simplifies tedious operations of the user and greatly improves the user experience.
