Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for estimating battery state of charge, and a battery management system equipped with the same. A method for estimating the state of charge (SOC) of a battery module assembly including a plurality of battery modules including a plurality of battery cells according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving the battery current from a current sensor; comparing the battery current with a threshold current, and selecting a first or second SOC estimation method according to the comparison result; estimating the SOCs of the plurality of battery cells according to the selected SOC estimation method; and estimating the SOC of the battery module assembly by combining the estimated SOCs of the plurality of battery cells.
