METHOD FOR EVALUATING ACTIVITY OF HAIR ROOT USING MAGNETIC RESONANCE APPARATUS

A method for evaluating the activity of a hair root using a magnetic resonance apparatus to quantitatively determine the activities of a hair root and its peripheral tissue. The method uses a magnetic resonance apparatus (1) having a magnet device (2) movably placed on the scalp of a subject (13). The measured proton relaxation times of the hair roots and their peripheral tissues of portions of the scalp and the signal intensities reflecting the relaxation times are compared respectively. According to the results of the comparison, the activities of the hair roots of each portion of the scalp. Alternatively, the relaxation times of the portions of interest of the scalp or the signal intensities reflecting the relaxation times are compared with a predetermined reference value, and the activities of the hair roots of the portions of interest of the scalp can be evaluated according to the results of the comparison.
