Abstract:
Provided is an evaluation method for calculating the quantity of albumin leaking from a blood purifier before purifying the blood of a patient to be treated by using a hollow fiber membrane bundle. Also provided is an evaluation method for calculating values that relate to blood purification conditions and the properties of a blood purifier so as to attain the target albumin leakage quantity. Using statistical procedures, a regression equation for calculating albumin leakage quantity is derived at least on the basis of a first parameter that relates to the blood properties of the subject, a second parameter that relates to the conditions for the purification of the subject's blood, a third parameter that relates to the properties of the blood purifier and the albumin leakage quantity. Then, the quantify of albumin leaking from the blood purifier, said blood purifier being used by the patient to be treated, is calculated using this regression equation. Alternatively, a second parameter and a third parameter that allow the achievement of the target albumin leakage quantity are calculated.
