Abstract:
A method for evaluating health state that comprises: measuring the amount of cell-free DNA per unit amount of a body fluid sample collected from a subject after tumor removal; comparing the amount of cell-free DNA measured above to a standard value to thereby evaluate the health state of the subject; said standard value being any one of a preset threshold, the amount of cell-free DNA per unit amount of a body fluid sample collected from the aforesaid subject prior to the tumor removal, the amount of cell-free DNA per unit amount of a body fluid sample collected from the aforesaid subject one week to three months after the tumor removal, and the amount of cell-free DNA per unit amount of a body fluid sample collected from the aforesaid subject prior to the collection of the aforesaid body fluid sample; and, in the evaluation of the health state of the subject, when the measured amount of cell-free DNA is larger than the standard amount, it is evaluated that a tumor nest is enlarged or highly possibly enlarged in the subject, new metastasis occurs or highly possibly occurs in the subject, or the health state of the subject worsens or highly possibly worsens though neither tumor nest enlargement nor new metastasis occurs.
