Abstract:
The present invention relates to a taste-sensitive animal model using the measurement value of a weight change of an animal, and a preparation method therefor. More specifically, it was found that since rodents, like humans, have a palate discriminating bad tastes, the rodents avoid consuming drugs, food and the like having a bitter taste, a hot taste, an astringent taste or the like. That is, when adding, to rodent feed, food or drugs having a bad taste and feeding the feed to the rodents, the rodents avoid eating the feed, thereby reducing in weight. Accordingly, a bad taste sensory test can be carried out instead of a human sensory test by using the principal that the feed consumption and weight of the rodents reduces when adding an ingredient having a bitter taste, a hot taste, an astringent taste or the like to rodent feed and feeding the same to the rodents. The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a method for quantitatively evaluating taste, capable of replacing, through the feeding of the feed to rodents, a human sensory test for discriminating bad tastes by humans; a preparation method therefor; and a sensory test method for the tastes of a drug, food, a dietary supplement, a functional food, a food additive, a medicinal product additive and the like by using an animal.
