Abstract:
A method of exchanging dies for a press, comprising the steps of holding a used die by means of a die holder provided on a slide to lift the same by means of the slide, in this condition transporting a transport truck, which has a space capable of placing thereon a die to be used the next time and placing thereon a used die, into a press body, after the used die is placed on the transport truck, moving the transport truck so as to permit the die to be used the next time to be disposed below the slide, holding the die to be used the next time by means of the die holder to lift the same by means of the slide, carrying out the transport truck, on which the used die is placed, from inside the press body, and lowering the slide to permit a lower die half of the die to be used the next time to be fixed to a bed and an upper die half of the die to be used the next time to be fixed to the underside of the slide.
