Abstract:
A color filter has at least two pixel groups having different colors from each
other on a board, and pixels constituting the pixel group are isolated from each
other by a deep color isolation wall. In a method for fabricating the color filter,
the process of forming the deep color isolation wall includes the following steps
(1) to (3). (1) The step of exposing a layer consisting of a deep color composition
so as to make a pattern under a poor oxygen atmosphere (pattern exposure step).
(2) The step of forming a deep color isolation wall pattern by developing after
the pattern exposure (development step). (3) The step of irradiating and curing
the deep color isolation wall pattern with light having an exposure of at least
2500 mJ/cm2 (post-exposure step). This fabrication method enables
pixels with a little color mixing and the like to be formed with a high position
accuracy and the color filter to be fabricated at a low cost and with a high efficiency.
A color filter fabricated by this method and a display device having the color
filter are also provided.
