Abstract:
Method of fabricating a metal seal with a neck mounted on a shaft-sealing device in a rotary part of a caterpillar track, used mainly for a travel gear of a work machine. It is an object of this method to supply a less expensive, high-quality metal seal to a market, and accelerate the casting thereof to provide a completely automatic mass production system for metal seals. More particularly, the scope of the method of fabricating the metal seal with a neck comprises the steps of forming the outer shape of the metal seal (15) with a neck (17) by centrifugal force in a rotating metal-casting mold (13), and removing the metal seal (15) from main integral molds (14) by the contraction of the metal seal (15) due to its falling temperature. This method is useful for factories producing the parts of caterpillar travel gears.
