Abstract:
A method of finishing the edge of a root plate of hair in wigs is disclosed. The finishing method allows a net, partially attached to the front part of the root plate or completely attached along the edge of the root plate and defining an interfacial edge of such a wig relative to the skin of the head, to have a finely rugged edge, with hairs implanted into the net at all of a plurality of knots formed around the fine round rugs. In an embodiment of this invention, the desired net is made by weaving two or more net yarns together while regularly spacing and arranging the net yarns to form an overlapped mountain profile, with the fine round rugs being formed at regularly and continuously arranged peaks of the overlapped mountain profile. In another embodiment, the desired net is made by primarily arranging the net yarns in parallel to each other and knitting the yarns together into a desired net while repeatedly crossing the yarns at knots, with the fine round rugs being regularly and continuously formed along the outside edge of the net. When wearing the wig of this invention, the net comes into close and soft contact with the skin of the head while being free from giving itch, stimulation or pain to the skin of the head, thereby allowing a user to feel comfortable. Due to the fine round rugs of the net, the wig also accomplishes a desired natural hairstyle on the head. In addition, the fine round rugs of the net are almost completely free from being unexpectedly loosened or broken, and so it is possible to use the wig for a desired lengthy period of time.

Claims:
1. A method of finishing an edge of a root plate of hair in wigs, with the root plate being implanted with hairs and being integrated with a net partially attached to a front part of an edge of said root plate or completely attached along the edge of the root plate, comprising the steps of : making said net of net yarns while regularly and continuously forming a plurality of fine round rugs along an outside edge of the net; and implanting hairs into the net at all of a plurality of knots formed around said fine round rugs.
2. The method according to claim 1, wherein said net yarns are woven together into a desired net while being regularly spaced and arranged to form an overlapped mountain profile, with the fine round rugs being formed at regularly and continuously arranged peaks of the overlapped mountain profile.
3. The method according to claim 1, wherein said net yarns are primarily arranged in parallel to each other and are knitted together into a desired net while repeatedly crossing each other at knots, with the fine round rugs being regularly and continuously formed along the outside edge of the net.

METHOD OF FINISHING EDGE OF ROOT PLATE OF HAIR IN WIGS Technical Field The present invention relates, in general, to a method of finishing the edge of a root plate of hair in wigs covering all or most of the head and, more particularly, to an improvement in such a finishing method to allow a net, partially attached to the front part of a root plate of hair in such wigs or completely attached along the edge of such a root plate of hair and defining an interfacial edge of such a wig relative to the skin of the head, to have a finely rugged edge, thus allowing the net to be brought into close and soft contact with the skin of the head and to accomplish a desired natural hairstyle when wearing the wig.

Background Art As well known to those skilled in the art, wigs are typically classified into two types, or partial wigs used for covering partially hairless areas of the scalp, such as bald crown, and full wigs used for completely covering a hairless scalp.

It is necessary for such wigs to be designed to prevent those around users from recognizing the wearing of wigs on the heads of the users and to allow the users to feel comfortable by minimizing heterogeneity of the wigs when wearing the wigs. Particularly in the case of partial wigs designed to be closely and firmly attached to the crown, it is necessary to appropriately finish the front part of a wig, thus allowing the wig to be natural. The front part of the wig is the interfacial edge of the wig relative to the naked forehead and may be undesirably easily recognized by those around a user. It is also necessary for such partial wigs to be appropriately finished at the edge of the root plate of hair of a wig, thus allowing the edge of the root plate to be desirably softened. Otherwise, the edge of such a root plate of hair in a partial wig may be undesirably and tightly attached to the scalp as if it pierces the skin and causes pain to the scalp.

However, in conventional partial wigs, hair is implanted into the net 2, which is attached to the front part of the root plate 1 of hair of a wig and is neatly cut at its edge, as shown in Fig. la. Therefore, when wearing such a wig on the head, the interfacial edge of the front part of the root plate 1 is well recognized by those around a user since the interfacial edge is shown as if a linear shaving process forms it. The conventional wigs thus fail to accomplish a desired natural hairstyle.

In addition, when the finished edge of the net 2 does not have a desirably rigid structure or is not firmly attached to the front part of the root plate 1, the net 2 may be easily loosened or broken at its edge or may be undesirably and partially removed from the front part of the root plate 1 during an expected life span of the wig. This forces a user to purchase a new wig while paying excessive money.

The loosened or broken net 2 also has a plurality of stiff and sharp threads 3, which undesirably pierce the skin, stimulate and cause pain to the scalp when they are brought into contact with the scalp. Such threads 3 also make a user feel itchy at the skin coming into contact with the threads 3, thus making the user feel uncomfortable.

Fig. lb shows the structure of the front part of a root plate of hair in a partial wig in accordance with another embodiment of the prior art. As shown in the drawing, this front part of the root plate 1 is specifically finished at the edge of the net 2 so as to form a linear line 4 along the edge of the net 2 in an effort to prevent itch, stimulation or pain caused by the stiff and sharp threads 3 of the loosened or broken net 2 attached to the root plate 1. However, in this embodiment, the linear line 4 is too thick, thus undesirably reducing the attaching force of the interfacial edge of the root plate 1 relative to the forehead when wearing the wig on the head. In addition, the thick and linear line 4 fails to accomplish a desired natural hairstyle when wearing the wig on the head.

In the above description, the problems, experienced in the net attached to the front part of a root plate of hair of partial wigs, have been limitedly described.

However, it should be understood that the same problems as those of the partial wigs have been experienced in full wigs with a net completely attached along the

edge of a root plate of hair.

Disclosure of the Invention Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a method of finishing the edge of a root plate of hair in wigs, which allows the edge of the root plate to be brought into close and soft contact with the scalp and to accomplish a desired natural hairstyle when wearing a wig on the head.

In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a method of finishing the edge of a root plate of hair in wigs. In accordance with the method of this invention, the net, partially attached to the front part of a root plate of hair in such wigs or completely attached along the edge of such a root plate of hair and defining an interfacial edge of such a wig relative to the skin of the head, has a continued, repeated and finely rugged edge. Due to such rugged edge, the net has desired flexibility and durability and comes into close and soft contact with the skin of the head while being free from giving itch, stimulation or pain to the skin of the head, thereby allowing a user to feel comfortable. The fine round rugs of the net also allow the wig to accomplish a desired natural hairstyle on the head.

Brief Description of the Drawings The above and other objects, features and other advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which: Figs. la and lb are plan views, showing the structure of the front parts of root plates of hair in partial wigs in accordance with two embodiments of the prior art; Figs. 2a and 2b are a perspective view and a plan view, showing a finely

rugged edge of a net attached to the front part of a root plate of hair in a partial wig in accordance with the primary embodiment of the present invention; Figs. 3a and 3b are plan views, showing finely rugged edges of nets attached to the front parts of root plates of hair in partial wigs in accordance with the second and third embodiments of the present invention; and Figs. 4a to 4c are plan views, showing finely rugged edges of nets completely attached along the edges of root plates of hair in full wigs in accordance with the fourth to sixth embodiments of the present invention.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention Figs. 2a and 2b are a perspective view and a plan view, showing a finely rugged edge of a net attached to the front part of a root plate of hair in a partial wig in accordance with the primary embodiment of the present invention. As shown in the drawings, the wig has a root plate 10, with hairs implanted into the external surface of the root plate 10. The wig is worn on a hairless part of the head, thus covering the hairless part. A net 20 is attached to the edge of the front part of the above root plate 10 and forms an interfacial edge of the wig relative to the skin of the forehead.

In the present invention, the above net 20, attached to the edge of the root plate 10, is specifically made in a way such that two or more net yarns 21 are knitted together into a desired net 20, with a plurality of knots R being regularly formed in the net 20 and a plurality of fine round rugs 22 being regularly and continuously formed along the edge of the net 20. In the net 20, all of the knots R, formed around the fine round rugs 22, are completely implanted with hairs.

That is, the outside edge of the net 20, attached to the edge of the root plate 10, forms the interfacial edge of the wig relative to the exposed skin of the head when the wig is worn on the head. When hairs are implanted at all of the knots R around the fine round rugs 22 as described above, the wig accomplishes a desired natural hairstyle on the head. Particularly, since the outside edge of the net 20, which forms the interfacial edge of the wig relative to the exposed skin of

the forehead, is finished to have the continuously formed fine round rugs 22 as described above, the outside edge of the net 20 is not undesirably or easily recognized by those around a user it is possible for the wig to accomplish a desired natural hairstyle on the head.

Figs. 3a and 3b are plan views, showing finely rugged edges of nets attached to the front parts of root plates of hair in partial wigs in accordance with the second and third embodiments of this invention. In each of the embodiments of Figs. 3 a and 3b, the net 20, attached to the edge of the root plate 10 of hair, is made in a way such that a weft and a warp of net yarns are woven together into a desired net 20, with a plurality of fine round rugs 22 being regularly and continuously formed along the edge of the net 20. In the embodiment of Fig. 3a, the weft and warp of the net yarns 21 are woven together into a desired net 20 while regularly spacing and arranging the net yarns 21 to form an overlapped mountain profile, with desired fine round rugs 22 being formed at the regularly and continuously arranged peaks of the overlapped mountain. profile. In the embodiment of Fig. 3b, the weft and warp of the net yarns 21, primarily arranged in parallel to each other, are knitted together into a desired net 20 while repeatedly crossing each other, with both desired knitted knots formed in the net 20 at the crossing points and desired fine round rugs 22 regularly and continuously formed along the outside edge of the net 20.

Figs. 4a to 4c are plan views, showing finely rugged edges of nets completely attached along the edges of root plates of hair in full wigs in accordance with the fourth to sixth embodiments of the present invention. In each of the fourth to sixth embodiments, a net 20, having a plurality of fine round rugs 22 regularly and continuously formed along the outside edge of the net 20, is completely attached along the edge of the root plate 10.

When wearing each of the wigs of Figs. 4a to 4c on the head, it is possible to accomplish a desired natural hairstyle at the entire edge of the root plate 10 in addition to the front part of the root plate 10.

In a brief description, the net 20, partially attached to the front part of the edge of a root plate 10 of hair in wigs or completely attached along the edge of the

root plate 10, is made in a way such that a plurality of fine round rugs 22 are regularly and continuously formed along the outside edge of the net 20, or the interfacial edge of a wig relative to the exposed skin of the head, with a plurality of knots R being formed around all of the rugs 22. When a user wears the wig on his head to cover a hairless area of the head with the root plate 10 of the wig coming into contact with the skin of the head, the interfacial edge of the wig relative to the skin of the head is not undesirably or easily recognized by those around the user due to the finely rugged outside edge of the net 20. This allows the wig to accomplish a desired natural hairstyle when it is worn on the head.

The fine rugs 22, formed along the outside edge of the net 20, are not sharpened, but are smoothly rounded and continued from end to end of the net 20 while maintaining desired flexibility, softness and elasticity. The net 20 of this invention is thus free from giving itch, stimulation or pain to the skin of the head when it is brought into close contact with the skin of the head. In addition, the fine round rugs 22 of the net 20 are almost completely free from being unexpectedly loosened or broken, and so it is possible to use a wig for a lengthy period of time.

Industrial Applicability As described above, the present invention provides a method of finishing the edge of a root plate of hair in wigs. In accordance with the method of this invention, the net, partially attached to the front part of a root plate of hair in such wigs or completely attached along the edge of such a root plate of hair and defining an interfacial edge of such a wig relative to the skin of the head, has a finely rugged edge. The net thus comes into close and soft contact with the skin of the head while being free from giving itch, stimulation or pain to the skin of the head, thereby allowing a user to feel comfortable. Due to the fine round rugs of the net, the wig of this invention accomplishes a desired natural hairstyle on the head. In addition, the fine round rugs of the net are almost completely free from being unexpectedly loosened or broken, and so it is possible to use the wig for a

desired lengthy period of time.

Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
