Abstract:
This method for forming an aluminide coating film on a base is a method for forming an aluminide coating film on a surface of a heat-resistant superalloy base. The method comprises a step in which in a selective region where an aluminide coating film is to be formed, the base metal of the heat-resistant alloy base is exposed, a step in which an aluminum metal coating film or aluminum-based alloy coating film is formed on the exposed base metal by nonaqueous electroplating, and a step in which the heat-resistant alloy base on which the coating film has been formed is heat-treated to thereby make the aluminum component of the coating film and the base metal undergo a diffusion reaction to form an aluminide film, wherein in the nonaqueous electroplating, use is made of, as a plating solution, a nonaqueous plating solution containing both a halide of the metal(s) to be deposited (metal halide) and an organic compound forming an ion pair with the metal halide, and a given means for isolating the nonaqueous plating solution from the air is utilized to locally immerse the selective region in the nonaqueous plating solution.
