Abstract:
Provided is a method that efficiently forms graft chains having a length the same as or greater than heretofore and/or that efficiently forms a graft layer having a thickness the same as or greater than in conventional techniques. A method for forming a graft layer according to an aspect of the present disclosure comprises: a contact step for bringing a substrate containing a polymer A into contact with a treatment liquid that contains a compound B and a polymer C in a solvent D; and a polymerization step for carrying out graft polymerization of the compound B on the polymer A that constitutes at least a portion of the surface of the substrate.
