Abstract:
The present invention relates to the formation of an electrodeposited coating film effective for hydrophilic coating of a heat exchanger composed of fins and tubes. In order to form a uniform coating film of a water dispersion of poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide)copolymer, which exhibits hydrophilic-hydrophobic properties, depending on a temperature change, electrodeposition coating is performed at higher than room temperature while deionized water and a co-solvent selected from ethanol, methanol, or 1-propanol are used as a dispersion medium for poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide)copolymer, thereby achieving higher coating uniformity. The electrodeposition coating method of poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide)copolymer according to the present invention is adapted to uniformly form a hydrophilic coating film on the surface of a heat exchanger having a complicated shape to suppress the formation of water droplets of condensate on the surface of the heat exchanger, thereby improving the heat exchange efficiency, and not only has excellent adhesion efficiency compared to dip coating and spray coating, which are conventional coating methods of coating agents, but also is advantageous over the conventional methods in terms of economy because it enables process automation.
