Description:
DESCRIPTION

A Method for Forming Joint Gap between Coating-Covering Elements THE RELATED ART

The invention can be used in all kinds of covering-coating products made of marble, glazed tile-ceramic, glass, wood etc. materials that can be covered over floors, walls, or ceilings; and in all kinds of coating-covering materials that need leaving joint gaps.

The invention particularly relates to a method enabling opening of self-joint gaps when coating materials are brought together for the purpose of covering a space, by means of opening joint gap channels in desired depth and width at the edges of the products.

THE PRIOR ART

With the development of modern construction sector, bigger, wider, and taller structures are being built. Therefore, the change in size of materials and relevant stresses, wind-related pressures, own weight of structures, loads carried by buildings have increased and became more significant. One of the most significant parameters that is required to be considered carefully is the design of the joining and connection points among the units, components, and elements forming the structure. Nowadays, floor, wall, and ceiling surfaces are covered/coated by marble, glazed tile- ceramic, glass, wood etc. construction materials. While making application with these materials, spaces called joint gaps are required to be left between two construction materials. The purpose of this to prevent cracking and breaking of construction materials, since these materials expand in time (the construction materials frozen and shrunk in the winter warms and expands in the summer), and this gap is filled with a filling material so as to ensure that the two construction materials stick to each other. Joint gap is a gap left between two construction elements or two sections of a structure in order to achieve the above said purposes. In the prior art applications, when joint gap is wanted to be left between marble and ceramic etc. covering-coating products having square, rectangular, or other polygonal straight-edged geometric shapes, a simple apparatus made of plastic and called "plus" is used. These plastic products perform their functions well with coated materials having geometric shapes with straight edges, especially with square or rectangular products. However, it does not work with products having more complex geometric shapes and especially with coating materials having curvilinear edges. As a result of our research, we did not encounter a product or a method that can be used in covering of products having said curvilinear and complex edges with precise and perfect joint gaps. However, coverings are made by "rule of thumb", giving barely acceptable results. In a mounting-covering operation performed in this way, it is of course not possible to form a smooth joint gap.

Another technique used in the prior art applications is the use of arrangement moulds made of rubber while arranging marble-mosaic, ceramic-mosaic, or glass-mosaic products for forming joint gaps between components. The idea behind these arrangement moulds is to form joint gaps by arranging the materials in moulds that form the desired joint gaps. The operation of adhering to a netting is applied in order to preserve the joint gaps of the products taken out of the moulds and keep the materials together. This operation requires additional consumable material and labour costs.

In the patent research about the prior art, a utility model with application No. 2015/10858, titled "Joint gap adjuster embodiment" is encountered, which is summarized as follows: The invention is particularly used in coverings which are used in constructions, enabling adjustment of ceramic etc. coating material gaps with equal intervals, enabling performing coating workmanship on the surface structure without using a set-square, preventing waste of time and minimizing application steps, and which comprise the main components of a main body, breaking point, fixed separator, and fragile separator.

The above disclosed document is related to adjustment of joint gap distances between marble etc. structures having square and rectangular shapes. The presence of technical problems about adjustment of joint gaps between covering elements that do not have a straight/smooth geometrical structure, and the inadequacy of the solutions brought to these problems have necessitated an improvement in this technical field. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The main purpose of the invention is to enable coating-covering products made of marble, glazed tile, glass, wood etc. construction materials to have self-joint gaps by means of opening joint channels at the edges of the products via CNC machines during their production. In this way, the purpose is to eliminate the workmanship for adjusting joint gaps during covering-mounting.

The purpose of the invention is to enable formation of precise and smooth joint gaps in coverings by means of forming joint channels via CNC machines during production of construction materials with curvilinear edges that do not have a straight geometry.

Another purpose of the invention is to reduce covering-coating labour costs by making the mounting of covering-coating construction materials quicker. Moreover, application of mounting-coating workmanship performed with the prior art products that do not have self-joint gaps cannot be as smooth as in our invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the method enabling formation of self-joint gaps (2.1 ) according to the invention are only disclosed for better understanding of the subject without forming any limiting effect.

The invention is a method for enabling opening of self-joint gaps (2.1 ) when coating- covering materials (2) are brought together, by means of opening joint gaps/channels (2.1 ) in desired depth and width at the edges of all kinds of coating-covering materials (2) made of marble, glazed tile-ceramic, glass, wood etc. materials. The method according to the invention can be applied in the production stage of any product that requires joint gaps (2.1 ).

In the method of the invention, the self-joint gaps (2.1 ) found at the edges of the coating-covering materials (2) are produced in CNC machines (1 ) by milling production technique. The section of the processing component/milling cutter (1 .1 ) to be used in CNC machines (1 ) is in the form of a flat end (Figure 1 ). The idea behind milling is to process the same section of the milling cutter end section at the edge of the product. The amount of depth where the processing component/milling cutter (1 .1 ) goes downward from the coating-covering material (2) upper surface during production determines the self-joint section depth. The tool path to be formed for the processing component (1 .1 ) at a distance that is equal to the offset from the side lines of the material to the center of the material determines the self-joint gap (2.1 ) width to be opened at the edge of the material. In other words, the depth and width dimensions of the self-joint gap (2.1 ) are formed by the tool path to be defined at the CNC machine (1 ).

With the method according to the invention enabling formation of self-joint gap (2.1 ), joint gaps (2.1 ) can be formed at the edges of all coating-covering materials (2) via CNC machines (1 ) during production stage of the materials, no matter if they have a straight geometry or not. After the coating-covering material (2) is produced in desired dimensions, joint channel/gap (2.1 ) is opened at its edge part in desired depth and size by means of the tool path defined on the CNC machine (1 ).
