Abstract:

Disclosed is a method for forming a microwire of nanometer to micrometer size on a predetermined object. The method comprises: preparing a micropipette of which the inner diameter of the distal end is substantially the same as the diameter of a microwire to be formed; filling the micropipette with a solution of a microwire-forming material; bringing the solution into contact with the object through the distal end of the micropipette; and separating the micropipette from the object at a separation speed less than or equal to a predetermined critical speed, so as to obtain a microwire having a diameter that is substantially the same as the inner diameter of the distal end of the micropipette.
