Abstract:
Provided is a method for friction-stir-welding an electromagnetic steel strip, the method making it possible to suppress the occurrence of fracturing of a coil weld part, in a manufacturing line, caused by degradation in shape or degradation of the mechanical characteristics of the coil weld part, while maintaining high processing efficiency. Preheating-type double-sided friction stir welding is carried out, and then welding is carried out under conditions such that the steel compositions of a heat-processing-affected part and a welded part formed through welding are each composed mainly of a ferrite phase and such that the relationships in formulas (1) to (4) are simultaneously satisfied. Formula (1): Dsz≤200 μm; Formula (2): Dhaz1≤Dbm1; Formula (3): Dhaz2≤Dbm2; Formula (4): 0.9×(Hbm1+Hbm2)/2≤Hsz≤1.2×(Hbm1+Hbm2)/2
