Disclosed are a method for generating a pilot beam and an apparatus for performing the same. The method for generating a pilot beam according to an embodiment comprises the steps of: generating an output pilot beam on the basis of a hybrid MIMO transmission structure and the characteristics of a channel; and transmitting the output pilot beam.
