Abstract:
When the fixed block and the movable block which are provided to a band saw blade guide device hold the non-toothed section of a band saw blade (5), the movable insertion block (15) moves in such a way that a return allowing means (33) included in an insertion block moving means (21) for moving the movable insertion block (15) toward the fixed insertion block (9), is held in a returnable state. Thereby the fixed insertion block (9) and the movable insertion block (15) firmly hold the band saw blade (5). Subsequently, a mechanical fixing means (45) immovably fixes the whole of the insertion block moving means (21) including the return allowing means (33). In this fixed state, a return allowing operation of the return allowing means (33) keeps the gap between the fixed insertion block (9) and the movable insertion block (15) at an appropriate value corresponding to the thickness of the band saw blade (5).
