Abstract:
A method for improving the fair efficiency in the resilient packet ring and the apparatus thereof include: a queue management circuit, for storing addresses according to the precedence order queue of packets, and storing the packet destination station addresses accordingly; a calculating circuit (15), for extracting the live time of the use fair rate to obtain the distance from the congestion point to the current station; a scanning circuit (6), for scanning the packet destination station addresses from the first one, to get the packet destination station address; an analysis circuit (7), for analysing the packet destination station address,and determining whether the packet passes through the congestion point based on the distance from the congestion point to the current station. If it does, the scanning circuit (6) is demanded to continue scanning until the packet which doesn't pass through the congestion point is found or the scanning reaches the queue ending; the packet upper ring rate control is performed; when the first packet can't reach the upper ring owing to passing through the congestion point, the packet which doesn't pass through the congestion point is granted to jump the queue to reach the upper ring.
