A method for the industrial treatment of silt sediment, mainly suitable for use in treating earth excavated in urban construction, comprising the following steps: (1) a mud/sand initial treatment step: processing treated mud/sand into wet mud/sand and a large material mixture; (2) a mud/sand separation step: comprising (21) a coarse sand separation step and (22) a fine sand separation step; and (3) a slurry treatment step: after further finely treating slurry spilling from a coarse sand separation tank, dehydrating same to obtain dry mud for later use. A roller drum mud/sand separation apparatus is used to process treated mud/sand into wet mud/sand and a large material mixture, so that waste soil pulled up by construction site diggers can be poured directly into the separating apparatus and be rapidly processed into the wet mud/sand and the large material mixture, without accumulating piles; in addition, on the basis of the different soil components, the processed soil can be manufactured into pottery products and porcelain products, so that full use can be made of all of the waste material, thereby achieving the green, sustainable development objective of making valuable objects from waste.
