Abstract:
A method of inhibiting an aromatic vinyl compound from polymerizing during production, purification, storage, or transportation. The method not only inhibits initial polymerization but efficiently inhibits polymerization over long. It imparts excellent handleability to the aromatic vinyl compound. The method, which is for inhibiting the polymerization of an aromatic vinyl compound, comprises adding a nitrogenous aromatic compound and a sulfonic acid compound in combination to the aromatic vinyl compound during production , purification, storage, or transportation.
