Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for inspecting for defects of a green honeycomb compact (100) that has partitions (112) forming a plurality of ducts (110) extending parallel to each other and that has a sealing section (114) that closes the upper ends of a subset of the plurality of ducts (110) and the bottom ends of the remainder of the ducts (110). The method is provided with a step for applying pressure by means of gas on the bottom ends of the plurality of ducts (110), and a step for visualizing the distribution of the rate of gas deflection at the vicinity of the upper ends of the plurality of ducts (110).
