Disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention are a method for installing a subscription profile, a terminal and a server, which relate to the technical field of communications., In an authorization file, a region where policy rules cannot be used is defined, thereby the terminal can prohibit operators of a specific region, according to the authorization file, from using policy rules, effectively expanding the application range of the terminal. The method comprises: LPA of the terminal acquiring the metadata of a subscription profile (comprising policy rules), and determining, according to the authorization file (comprising the identifier of at least one policy rule and prohibited-region information of each policy rule), whether each policy rule included in the metadata is allowed to be used, if it is determined at least that each policy rule included in the metadata is allowed to be used, LPA acquiring the subscription profile, and sending the subscription profile to eUICC of the terminal; eUICC determining, according to the authorization file, whether the subscription profile is allowed to be used; and if eUICC determines that the subscription profile is allowed to be used, installing the subscription profile.
