Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method in which an antigen molecule is efficiently isolated from and detected in an antigen-antibody complex in a biological specimen. Provided is a method which isolates an antigen molecule from a liquid specimen containing an antigen-antibody complex, and involves a binding step for adding the liquid specimen to a column to which an antibody-binding protein is affixed, and binding an antibody molecule in the antigen-antibody complex to the antibody-binding protein, and an elution step for eluting an eluate which includes the antigen molecule by separating the antigen molecule in the antigen-antibody complex from the antibody molecule, wherein said elution step involves continuously or incrementally decreasing the pH of the buffer solution while adding the buffer solution to the column.
