Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to prevent destruction of cells during sample preparation, and to make it possible to reliably analyze cells of interest. Provided is a method for isolating nucleated red blood cell candidate cells, the method having a concentration step for concentrating nucleated red blood cells in pregnancy maternal blood, a washing step for washing a maternal blood fraction in which nucleated red blood cells have been concentrated in the concentration step, a smear step for smearing the fraction from after the wash step on a substrate, a staining step for staining the blood cells in the fraction on the substrate, an identification step for analyzing the blood cells after the staining step and identifying candidate cells of nucleated red blood cells, and an acquisition step for acquiring the candidate cells of nucleated red blood cells identified in the identification step from the substrate. The washing step involves washing using a wash solution that contains a first cell treatment agent, the washing step and/or the smear step includes a step for treating the fraction using a second cell treatment agent, and the staining step involves carrying out staining using a staining solution that contains a staining dye and the second cell treatment agent.
