The purpose of the present invention is to enable further assured joining of a core wire including a plurality of element wires with a to-be-joined object by using an ultrasonic joining apparatus that supports, in a cantilever manner, a pressing part for ultrasonic joining. The to-be-joined object (e.g., terminal) is supported so as to be placed, the core wire is superposed on the to-be-joined object, and the core wire and the to-be-joined object are subjected to ultrasonic joining in a state where the core wire is pressed toward the to-be-joined object by the pressing part supported in a cantilever manner. During the ultrasonic joining, the pressing surface of the pressing part is inclined so that the side thereof toward a portion where the pressing part is supported in a cantilever manner heads further in a pressing direction, and the joined surface of the to-be-joined object is also inclined so that the side thereof toward the portion where the pressing part is supported in a cantilever manner heads further in the pressing direction.
